A vision born from a breathtaking view
Tucked away on the tranquil island of Koh Tao, Dusit Buncha by Riya stretches across over 20 rai (approximately 8 acres) of breathtaking natural beauty. The resort was founded in 2003 by Mr Buncha and Mrs Porntip Kanjanapruk, who, during a visit to Koh Tao, was captivated by a stunning viewpoint at the northern tip of Sairee Beach — now the very heart of the resort. Inspired by the magnificent views over Koh Nang Yuan and the surrounding landscape, he dreamt of creating a place where guests could immerse themselves in nature’s peace and serenity.
In 2023, Mr Kris and Mrs Riya (Gift) took ownership of the resort, bringing a fresh vision and heartfelt passion to this cherished place. Under their care, the resort was reimagined and rebranded as Dusit Buncha by Riya. They see the natural beauty of the resort as a blessing from God — a precious gift to be protected, shared, and celebrated. With this spirit, they are dedicated to offering guests genuine comfort, attentive service, and unforgettable experiences.
The resort’s unique location offers sweeping 180-degree ocean views, including some of the world’s most spectacular sunsets and a clear sightline to the nearby island of Koh Nang Yuan. The name “Dusit Buncha” can be interpreted as “a heavenly place cared for with devotion,” reflecting our commitment to preserving the spirit of this special place with love and respect. The addition of “Riya,” meaning “a joyful melody,” captures the spirit of happiness, harmony, and heartfelt hospitality we strive to share with every guest.
